At the end of the year 1844, the Schumanns moved from Leipzig to Dresden, into an apartment in Waisenhausstraße 6. Apart from various vacations and concert tours, among others the less successful journey in winter 1846/47 to Vienna, Dresden remains main residence until Clara and Robert move to Düsseldorf in fall 1850. The daughters Marie and Elise were born in Dresden.
