Elisabeth Leonskaja’s timeless artistry – unsusceptible to fashionable trends in interpretation — is securely rooted in lessons learned at the Moscow Conservatory in the 1960s and by the example of great musicians of the Soviet era, her close friend and musical collaborator Sviatoslav Richter among them.
